Starting in the late 1800’s workers across the U.S fought for better working conditions and livable wages, so they could have a better quality of life. Because of this movement today we are able to enjoy things like shorter workdays, days off, holidays, and paid time off. Labor Day pays tribute to the contributions and achievements of American workers. Along with celebrating workers’ rights this day is often considered the last event of the summer. Before the weather changes, it’s important to end the season with enough excitement to look forward to next year.

WHEN IS LABOR DAY?

Plan your end of summer barbecue for the weekend for the first Monday of September. This year, Labor Day falls on September 5th, 2022. Being the 140th anniversary of the beloved holiday! The demanded holiday was adopted in over 23 states by 1894, as workers wanted a day to celebrate all of their hard work. By June of 1894, President Grover Cleveland signed a law making the very first Monday of September of each year a national holiday, as we all know as Labor Day!
