LET’S BREAK A WORLD RECORD!
Dickey’s Barbecue Pit (@dickeysbarbecuepit) is attempting to get the most photos in one hour posted to Instagram of people holding a reusable plastic cup (in this case, the Big Yellow Cup) using #showusyourcup and #bigyellowcup. Note: Only one photo per account will be counted, and your post must be public to be included.
Why you have to be a part of this
The Big Yellow Cup is the most iconic plastic cup in barbecue history! Not only are we attempting to flood the world with fun images of any edition of our Big Yellow Cup series, but with each counted photo, Dickey’s Restaurant Brands will donate $5 to The Dickey Foundation to continue their efforts in supporting First Responders around the country.
How to Participate
- The picture doesn’t have to be TAKEN during our allotted time period, just POSTED during it, so if you think you’ll be busy during that time, just take it in advance so it’s ready for the big day!
- Grab your Big Yellow Cup (any color will do), and a camera phone
- Pour some type of non-alcoholic beverage in the cup – we have more rules to follow if it’s alcoholic, so let’s keep it simple ;)
- Snap a selfie with your cup – or have someone take it for you – then swap, so they can participate too! Please make sure your face is fully visible, well lit, and you are the main focus of the image.
- On October 28th, from 7:30 – 8:30 pm Central Time, post the image publicly to your Instagram account using #showusyourcup and #bigyellowcup.
- If your profile is typically set to Private, it will need to be made Public during the posting period, and for at least 4 hours, to ensure the Adjudicator of the Record Attempt can verify the numbers.
