In October of every year, the Kansas City American Royal Society holds the biggest barbecue contest the country has ever seen. The American Royal World Series is a major event that involves people from around the world. It helps that there is a cash prize of $50,000 for the person who proves to be the best cook in the world.

Considered the Super Bowl of barbecue competitions, the Jack Daniel’s World Championship Invitational Barbecue occurs every October, and features some of the finest BBQ chefs across the globe.
The competition, lovingly referred to as “The Jack”, features a who’s who in the BBQ competition world. To qualify, these teams must win a state championship with at least 25 teams or a competition of 50 teams, or win one of the premiere barbecue competitions that qualify a team for an automatic berth. The contests are not just about cooking either, with plenty of events for the family, award ceremonies and fireworks, you’ll definitely stay busy (and full).
