Dickey’s Barbecue Pit on Fox Business addressing concerns with inflation and fuel cost

Published: 09 Jun 2022

Dickey's Barbecue Pit goes live on Fox Business to express concerns with soaring inflation prices and the effects on business owners. Small business owners are starting to feel the heat as inflation soars, and prices continue to increase. With 81 years in the making, the Dickeys' business love what they do. Although they are on the cusp of being flexible, they have still been able to reduce their menu by limiting the exclusive time offers. Dickey’s has also started extensively testing their more complex menu offerings to reduce costs in other areas to offset the high fuel prices. The BBQ joint focuses on affordable menu items like giant stuffed bakers. Although inflation and soaring prices have an effect on the profitability margin for these business owners, Dickey's expresses how fuel is one of their major concerns for the business.

The fuel cost with supply chain and delivery is a major concern for truckers in the nation and they are concerned with what it costs to ship goods across the nation. To address and combat this, Dickey's is centralizing their distribution even further and doing more themselves by streamlining their supply chain and removing unnecessary delivery trips. "It is right there at what guests can pay and will pay, and so it is certainly where we need any sort of relief we can and any way to help reduce fuel cost," says CEO of Dickey's Barbecue Restaurant, Inc., Laura Rea Dickey. Dickey's asks for any help, especially from Washington, to get these fuel prices lowered.
