Delaware Family Brings Dickey’s Barbecue Pit to Newark

(Newark, DE) New Dickey’s Barbecue Pit franchisees open their first location in Newark this Thursday, October 5 with four weeks of specials and giveaways, including free barbecue for a year for three lucky guests. The new location will be opened by Brendan and Linda Powers with their two sons, BJ and Trevor.
“Dickey’s Barbecue Pit has been a family run business since it opened in 1941,” says Laura Rea Dickey, CEO of Dickey’s Barbecue Restaurants, Inc. “We are thrilled to have the Powers family join the Dickey’s family in serving their community authentic, Texas-style barbecue.”
Guests will receive a free Big Yellow Cup with free refills all day.
“You Give, We Give” – Guests who donate to Dickey’s charitable foundation, Barbecue, Boots & Badges, will receive a gift card as a thank you for their donation. All uniformed first responders also receive 50 percent off their meal.
Guests can register for a chance to win free barbecue for a year.

As a veteran of the U.S. Army, Brendan Powers looked to open a franchise during his retirement to run with his wife of 27 years and his two sons.
