Fast Casual: Dickey's opens 2 locations, helps wounded police officer through foundation

Published: 04 Aug 2017

Dickey's Barbecue Pit has added two locations, one in Colorado Springs and the other in Goodyear, Arizona, according to a press release.

Both locations featured a week of festivities, promotions and fundraising for the concept's charity, Barbecue, Boots & Badges. The charity recently helped raise funds for Officer Justin Ellis in the Dallas area. Ellis was wounded in an on-duty motorcycle crash while responding to a distress call, and the funds raised in collaboration with Toyota of Rockwell will help him purchase a wheelchair-accessible vehicle.

"Officer Ellis is a truly dedicated member of the police force who put his life on the line serving our community," Maurine Dickey, the founder of Barbecue, Boots & Badges, said in the release. "We are inspired by his dedication and honored to support him in his efforts to continue keeping Dallas safe."
