Fox News: Small Business Owners Speak Out After Filing for Financial Aid

Apr. 04, 2020 - Laura Rea Dickey, CEO of Dickey's Barbecue Restaurants, Inc., speaks with the Fox News team on the financial impact of coronavirus.

The Paycheck Protection Program signed by President Trump gives small businesses real relief in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. Over 17,500 loans were processed on day one of the program. $5.4 billion worth of loans are being filed at participating banks.

"This is such an important fund for us," says Laura Rea Dickey, CEO of Dickey's Barbecue Restaurants, Inc. "Having the liquidity to continue operations is absolutely necessary. We have switched our business to our online ordering and off-premise, and if we hadn't had that infrastructure we wouldn't have been able to evolve, adapt and assimilate as quickly as possible. So we have gone from a channel that used to support only 36% of our online and off-premise business to now supporting 90% of our business"
