EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — A new restaurant serving authentic barbecue opened in east El Paso.
Dickey's Barbecue Pit opened its doors on Thursday on Zaragoza Street and Pellicano Street.
The owner and operator Hugo Gonzalez is an El Paso native.
He says he decided it was time to bring slow-smoked Texas-style barbecue to the Sun City.
"It's a fast casual restaurant meaning that you order in two minutes, down the line you're all set you can start eating, if you have a 30-minute lunch. Maybe on your job (you) don't go to a 30-minute lunch, you can come here, get served, get out," said Gonzalez.
The chain restaurant is celebrating its grand opening with four weeks of specials and giveaways.
