Dickey’s Barbecue Celebrates Layton Grand Opening with Roland Dickey, Sr.

(Layton, Utah) Over the past few months, Dickey’s Barbecue multi-unit franchise owner, John Thomson has taken over Utah and made Dickey’s a household name. Thomson will be celebrating a grand opening event on Friday, March 29 at his Layton location with the chairman of Dickey’s Barbecue Restaurants, Inc., Roland Dickey, Sr., kicking off the event with free giveaways.

“Dickey’s family atmosphere and authentic great tasting food has already proven to be very popular around the state,” said Thomson. “Having Mr. Dickey come out to celebrate with us is a huge honor and the community is extremely excited to meet the famous Texas barbecue pit master.”

At Friday’s event, Dickey’s will be serving $1 Pulled Pork Big Barbecue sandwiches from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Mr. Dickey will be on-site giving away 50 copies of his new cookbook, “Mr. Dickey’s Barbecue Cookbook,” which features mouthwatering family recipes and colorful anecdotes.

“We’ve had remarkable growth in Utah,” said Roland Dickey, Jr. President and CEO of Dickey’s Barbecue. “John is a very passionate and determined entrepreneur who respects the brand and we’re proud to have him as part of the Dickey’s family.”
