Published: 25 Jun 2014

(Ferndale, WA) Dustin and Cheri Benson are not your typical business partners. The grandmother and grandson duo are the local owners of Dickey’s Barbecue Pit. On Thursday, June 26 at 11 a.m., they will open their second location in Ferndale. To celebrate, the new location is throwing a three-day grand opening celebration. The first 50 guests will receive gift cards worth up to $50.

“We have enjoyed working with Dickey’s Barbecue Pit over that past few years,” said multi-unit franchise owner, Dustin Benson. “We can’t wait to open our second location. I grew up in Ferndale and I’m so excited to be able to open a business in this part of Whatcom County.”

Friday, radio station 92.9 KISM will be on-site from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and this location will be serving $2 pulled pork barbecue sandwiches.  One lucky winner will be chosen for a $500 gift card and three winners will receive free barbecue for an entire year. Saturday, the new Dickey’s Barbecue Pit in Ferndale will offer all day merchandise giveaways.

Benson worked for Subway for four years before opening his first Dickey’s Barbecue Pit with his grandmother in Lynden in 2012. The new Dickey’s Barbecue Pit in Ferndale is located at 2054 Main Street and the phone number is 360.384.4227. Keep up with this new location on Facebook here.
