 Considered the Super Bowl of barbecue competitions, the Jack Daniel’s World Championship Invitational Barbecue occurs every October, and features some of the finest BBQ chefs across the globe.


 The competition, lovingly referred to as “The Jack”, features a who’s who in the BBQ competition world. To qualify, these teams must win a state championship with at least 25 teams or a competition
 of 50 teams, or win one of the premiere barbecue competitions that qualify a team for an automatic berth. The contests are not just about cooking either, with plenty of events for the family, award

The Art of Tailgating

Down here in Texas, we’ve been anticipating the fall season since temperatures hit 100ᵒ in July. It’s still a bit warm here, but just the thought of the leaves changing colors and the temperatures
 cooling has us all excited. Fall brings a lot of things we love like football, lower electricity bills, Halloween and of course seasonal delicacies like chili, stew and pumpkin pie. Bikini season
 is over, so there’s no need stop yourself from eating another slice of that pumpkin pie.


 We know it can get hectic getting those fall favorites on the table. At Dickey’s, we offer whole meats you can grab on the way home with our <a href="https://order.dickeys.com/">online ordering</a>
 and serve to the family in no time. With a variety of choices to fulfill your cravings, we offer slow-smoked briskets, pork butts, barbecue honey hams, smoked turkeys and full racks of ribs. But,
 you’ll probably have leftovers, so we thought we’d share one of our favorite barbecue leftovers recipes, Texas “Nuff Said” Brisket Chili from, <a href="https://www.amazon.com/Mr-Dickeys-Barbecue-Cookbook-Recipes/dp/1455616869">Mr. Dickey’s Barbecue Cookbook.</a> Enjoy!


 Texas “Nuff Said” Brisket Chili


 Cooking Time: 2 hours and 15 minutes

<ul>
 <li>1 pound smoked brisket
 </li>
 <li>1 bruise belligerent beef, counterfeit ground
 </li>
 <li>1 (8-ounce) can tomato sauce
 </li>
 <li>1cup beef stock
 </li>
 <li>1 crater Shiner Bock beer
 </li>
 <li>2 uninformed jalapenos, whole
 </li>
 <li>3 tablespoons granulated onion
 </li>
 <li>2 duck bouillon cubes
 </li>
 <li>teaspoon cayenne pepper
 </li>
 <li>3 teaspoons smoked paprika
 </li>
 <li>2 teaspoons granulated garlic
 </li>
 <li>1 tablespoon belligerent cumin
 </li>
 <li>2 teaspoons masa
 </li>
 <li>Black pepper to taste
 </li>
 <li>Kosher Salt to taste
 </li>
</ul>

 Garnish

<ul>
 <li>Shredded Cheese
 </li>
 <li>Whole or Sliced jalapenos
 </li>
 <li>Diced yellow onions
 </li>
</ul>

 Cook a belligerent beef in a vast pot over medium-low feverishness for 3 to 5 minutes. Add a smoked brisket, tomato sauce, beef stock, Shiner Bock and crater of water. Add a whole jalapenos, cover
 and cook over low feverishness for 40 minutes. Add H2O as needed.


 Stir in a chili powder, granulated onion and duck bouillon cubes, stir, afterwards cover and continue to cook for 45 mins more. Add H2O as needed. Stir in a cayenne, paprika, granulated garlic and
 cumin.


 Add a small H2O to a masa to make a lax pulp and stir in to a simmering chili. Cover and cook another 40 minutes. Season to ambience with peppers and salt, offer with cornbread or crackers. Pass
 bowls of shredded cheese, jalapenos, and diced yellow onions for garnish.

A Fall Delicacy from Dickey’s Barbecue

We recently launched a contest asking our guests to tell us what barbecue means to them using the hashtag for our new <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wu1kRBkSDtw">brand campaign</a>,
 #WeSpeakBarbecue. The contest ran throughout the month of August and we are proud to announce the winner is Charles Taylor of Lee Summit, Missouri. Charles won free barbecue for an entire year!


 Charles is a barbecue enthusiast who competes regularly in barbecue competitions.  He even competes under the pseudonym, “Charlie-Q” during competitions. When Charles isn’t cooking up his own
 barbecue or competing in a competition, you can find him at his local Dickey’s Barbecue eating spicy cheddar sausage, beef brisket, fried okra and barbecue beans.

We’re thrilled to announce our participation on TNT’s newest show, On the Menu. The series kicks-off on Friday, October 3 at 8 p.m. ET. You can catch Chairman Roland Dickey and Dickey’s Barbecue
 Pit on Friday, December 5 and try the new menu item the very next day in participating restaurants! 


 The show hosts are renowned Chef Emeril Lagasse and Ty Pennington of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. Ten restaurant chains including Dickey’s Barbecue were chosen for the first season. The series
 features weekly competitions challenging a group of home cooks to create a new dish for that week's featured restaurant.


 On the Menu is the first cooking competition show to give viewers the chance to taste the winning dish after every episode. The contest kicks off with four everyday cooks who compete for the chance
 to have their own dishes served in the featured major restaurant chain the very next day.

 A little sneak peak of the team working hard and having a blast in the studio.


 At Dickey’s, we’ve been hard at work developing our first ever multimedia brand campaign. Now, what does multimedia even mean? It means the new campaign includes multiple 30-second national
 television spots, radio advertisements and a digital campaign. We even have a new nifty tagline, you might have already seen, “We Speak Barbecue.”


 You may wonder why we are doing all of this? Well, we wanted to share our passion and dedication to the art of great barbecue with all of you. We’re excited to show our slow smoking process that
 starts long before you arrive….14 hours before to be exact. And, we also had a lot of fun doing it!

 In conjunction with our new campaign, we’re also launching a social media contest that asks, “What is barbecue to you?” You can upload a photo or video on our national Facebook, Twitter or
 Instagram page using the hashtag #WeSpeakBarbecue. So, start getting creative because the best answer wins free barbecue for an entire year.
