New Dickey's Barbecue Pit franchisee Brandon Gerrick plans to open a restaurant location later this summer at 1255 E. First Ave. in Broomfield, according to a Dickey's news release.
"I am excited to embark on this new adventure," Gerrick, who has more than 15 years of restaurant experience, said in a statement. "Dickey's was the best option to open my first franchise with their nationwide presence and their successful business model with new franchisees."
There are several Dickey's locations in the area, including restaurants in Longmont and Louisville.&nbsp;

BROOMFIELD, CO – Broomfield will soon be the site of a new location of the Dickey's Barbecue Pit franchise, the company announced.
Veteran restaurateur Brandon Gerrick will open his first Dickey's later this summer.
"Brandon and his wife recently made Broomfield their home and look forward to bringing Dickey's slow-smoked barbecue to the residents of his new community," the company said in a press release. "With over 15 years of restaurant experience, this will be the first concept that he owns and chose Dickey's due to his love for barbecue and the history of the Dickey's Barbecue Pit brand."
"I am excited to embark on this new adventure," Gerrick said in a press release.
Gerrick had initially been planning to open a franchise in Boulder, but it didn't happen.
The location of the new restaurant will be at 1255 E. 1st Ave., the company's website said.

Kenn brings over 30 years of restaurant operations experience to the team.
"We are thrilled to have Kenn as a part of the Dickey's Barbecue Pit family," CEO Laura Rea Dickey, said in the release. "His extensive background in the restaurant industry coupled with his experience working with franchisees has put him in the perfect position here at Dickey's and we look forward to his success."
Miller previously worked with&nbsp;Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, Quiznos and&nbsp;Taco Bueno.
"Dickey's Barbecue Pit is a well-known, family-owned brand." said Miller in the release. Franchisee Peter Juris, is opening a Dickey's Barbecue Pit location in Aventura, Florida this fall, according to a press release.&nbsp;
"I have been involved with meat and meat processing all my life," Juris said in the release. Before he moved to the United States he owned the largest meat processing plant in Ecuador. "I love barbecue and wanted to bring it to Florida. It is not as well known here, and I want to show people that Dickey's is the best option."
Juris has plans to open more Dickey's Barbecue Pit locations in North Miami and Fort Lauderdale, and is ready to expand the brand to as many Floridians as he can.
Founded in 1941, the brand has more than 550 locations in 45 states.&nbsp;
