announced that all meats sold in every location will contain “No B.S.” (Bad
Stuff) by sourcing only responsibly raised, quality meats. Starting August 15, all
chicken sold will now be raised without antibiotics. This breakthrough in
sustainability not only comprises the brand’s traditional slow smoked chicken
breast, but also will include whole smoked chickens and chicken nuggets served

100 percent vegetarian fed and humanely raised. It is also completely
hormone-free and cage-free, ensuring that Dickey’s guests are served only the

sustainably raised brisket as well as locally-made sausage with no nitrates,
nitrites or artificial coloring or flavors. Additionally, all of Dickey’s pork

The Smoke Trail Continues as Dickey’s Barbecue Pit Opens New Location in San Antonio

The four-store development agreement will double Dickey’s presence in the state


                


 (Portland, OR) Dickey’s Barbecue Pit is doubling its footprint in Oregon with a recently executed four-store development agreement. The Beaver State currently boasts four Dickey’s locations.
 Owner/Operator Todd Saperstein owns two of those locations and plans to open one store per year for the next four years, possibly adding more locations in the future.


 Todd Saperstein began his career in the mortgage industry, but decided to change his career path to franchise ownership when the industry took a downturn. After researching franchise concepts, he
 chose Dickey’s because of the rapid growth nationwide and support from the home office. He opened his first Dickey’s location in September 2014 and his second followed in July 2015. He is
 considering locations in and around the Portland area. A native Oregonian, Saperstein says, “I am proud to bring the Dickey’s brand to Oregon, and have gotten excellent feedback from my loyal

Dickey's Barbecue Pit Hosts Fundraiser in 17 DFW Stores to Benefit Injured Police Officer

The new store model features sustainable elements and a streamlined menu


  


 (Erie, PA) After debuting a new store concept in October 2015 located in the
 barbecue brand’s hometown of Dallas, TX, the first Dickey’s Barbecue Pit location to undertake the new concept will open April 7 in Erie, PA. The new store will offer eight meats and eight sides,
 available in customizable portions that allow each guest to decide how much and how many slow-smoked meats they want to try. Guests will be able to see the full barbecue process on display from the
 glass butcher-style case displaying all the fresh meats to the smoker, located just behind the chopping block, in the open kitchen floorplan.


 The new store design features a holistic sensory
 experience, from décor made largely of sustainably-sourced, reclaimed wood to the hand-crafted design elements highlighting Dickey’s history on the walls paired with a specially curated
 singer/songwriter playlist heard from a Bose surround sound speaker system.


 Dickey’s has made great strides in sustainability with
 the new store model, which also includes recyclable and compostable takeout containers made of 100 percent sugarcane. All other paper products are made with post-consumer recycled fiber. The new
 store, which slow smokes all its meats in-house as all Dickey’s locations do, will now use Dickey’s proprietary wood-blend pellets that consume 80 percent less wood and are made from a blend of
 hickory, cherry and other flavorful woods.

Dickey’s launches Pulled Pork Street Tacos following overwhelming success of first LTO in two years

 This gluten-free offering includes Dickey’s signature pulled pork with coleslaw and spicy barbecue sauce, packed into a traditional Mexican-style street taco with two four-inch corn tortillas to

 (Phoenix, AZ) Dickey’s Barbecue Pit is proud to announce its expansion throughout Arizona with a recently executed 10-store development agreement. The first store will open in Surprise, northwest
 of Phoenix, in 2016, with two stores opening per year for the next five years. This agreement marks one of the largest franchise agreements for Dickey’s with two of its youngest Owner/Operators.


  


 Owner/Operators and siblings Tiffany Oder and Chad Burge come from a family of multi-unit franchisees. Only 25 years old, Oder obtained her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in accounting from
 Arizona State University followed by her CPA license before embarking on her career as an entrepreneur. Her brother Chad is currently attending college at Embry Riddle University and plans to join
 the family business as a co-owner. “We are excited to meet our fellow franchisees and grow with the Dickey’s brand,” Oder says. “We knew as soon as we first tried the food that we wanted to invest

Multi-Concept Franchisee To Open 10 Dickey's Barbecue Pit Locations throughout Arizona

(Dallas, TX) For the past five years, Trinity Hall has been Dickey’s expert in all things related to building a franchise. She has managed all aspects in the
 franchising process from equipment to design to construction, and now oversees the development department which includes all those components, in addition to franchise sales and financing. She has
 opened over 400 stores during her tenure at Dickey’s and has led design and construction initiatives including the recently redesigned store concept that is rolling out
 nationwide.          



  


 Hall offers an insight into franchising from Dickey’s perspective, including advice to potential franchisees below.


  


 The Dickey’s franchising process


 Dickey’s has taken the word ‘sales’ out of their vocabulary and replaced it with ‘development.’ Dickey’s prides itself in offering ongoing support throughout the entire process, not just meeting
 sales quotas.


                


 In the first conversation with potential franchisees, the development team gets to know the prospect and their goals. After the initial conversation, if both parties choose to move forward and feel
 it’s a good match, prospects are invited to Dallas for ‘Discovery Day.’ They are toured through Dickey’s corporate stores and home office to meet the team in person and view the product first hand.
 They meet with Dickey’s executives, including a one-on-one with CEO Roland Dickey, Jr.


  


 Hall’s team consists of specialists in real estate, construction, project management and finance to guide franchisees from the very beginning and throughout the store opening process. Team members
 regularly travel to new store sites to make sure progress happens quickly and correctly.


  


 How Dickey’s franchise system is different


 “Dickey’s focuses on time and pace,” Hall says. “We work quickly and efficiently because we not only respect everyone’s time, but want our franchisees to start making money as soon as possible. We
 realize that buying a franchise is a high-commitment business proposition, so we do everything we can to get stores open and running quickly and smoothly.”


  


 Another differentiator is a new policy Hall has put into place. New franchisees purchase their first store to operate for a time and can add on additional stores later, with limited exceptions.
 Hall’s team does still consider multi-unit franchise deals on a case by case basis, always keeping an eye out for the right fit. Previously, Dickey’s sold multi-store development agreements.
 Dickey’s has an expectation that each franchisee directly operate their store, so this new system allows them to ease into the system, one store at a time. The new policy was created for the
 benefit of Owner/Operators, to allow them the time to get accustomed to running a store before adding new locations and responsibilities. 


  


 Advice to new franchisees


 There is a lot of information out there, as Hall explains. As a franchise is a life-long investment, it is important for potential franchisees to know the company they are investing in. Know its
 growth strategy, where it has been and where it is going. “It is also important to know the executive team,” she says. “Get to know the executives’ histories and passions, and you will know how
 they operate the company. At Dickey’s we want to make sure franchisees find the right fit for their investment and goals. This is why we have invested so much time and resources in our franchise
 development department. We believe we offer a great company to grow with and continue to take steps to ensure our process is a step above the rest.”
